It's been an exciting week for Marvel fans as we've been getting both official news and rumours about the characters involved Captain America: Civil War

As we've already mentioned before, the cast list for this movie is longer than anything we've seen before. Previously we've had official confirmation from (deep breath) Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman, Chadwick Boseman, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, William Hurt, Emily Van Camp, Daniel Bruhl, Paul Bettany and Frank Grillo.

Now comes the news that Pepper Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow, herself will also appear in the movie. Just how they're going to fit her in and how big a role she'll have to play remains to be seen.

In other exciting developments, Martin Freeman's character has also been revealed. He'll be playing Everett Ross.

For the uninitiated, Ross is a character from the Black Panther comics. He's the US Government's man in Wakanda and is the link between Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and the rest of The Avengers. Which means of course that he should have a role to play in the upcoming Black Panther standalone movie to be directed by Creed's Ryan Coogler.

Finally, in our last bit of Civil War news we have just a mere rumour that the alter ego of everyone's favourite building smashing green giant might also make an appearance in the movie. Again we stress this is very much a rumour but in a recent interview, Anthony Mackie spoke about the movie and its cast and name checked Mark Ruffalo alongside the already announced stars. Whether that was just a slip of the tongue or Mackie unintentionally gave something away there remains to be seen. It would make sense for Bruce Banner to show up, at least if it's just to explain how he's going to make it to Asgard for Thor: Ragnarok.
