Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley (he was the cute kid in the best one season show of all time, Freaks and Geeks) and Jonathan Goldstein are writing a reboot of the Vacation franchise that was an 80s movie mainstay, and they may be directing it as well say the folks at Variety.

Horrible Bosses was the biggest comedy grosser of last year after Bridesmaids, and there's already a sequel in the works. The 'Vacation' films were part of the Lampoon series that continued somewhat with Van Wilder a decade or so after Christmas Vacation. It would be the feature directorial debut for both guys, with the plot that plays more like a sequel, following the youngster in the original movies, Rusty, as he attempts to take a holiday with his family.

Reboots are a given in Hollywood nowadays and Horrible Bosses had enough funny moments to prove that these guys have chops. Vacation would be more of a family film, if it follows the originals.
