Before we dive into this particularly juicy rumour, it's worth pointing out a couple of things first off.

Marvel have so far confirmed that a 'Fantastic Four' movie is in development and a director - Jon Watts - has been lined up. After that, however, we're in the realm of speculation. With that, let's get to the rumours.

It's been reported by the Daily Telegraph - and subsequently picked up by CBR and others - that Jennifer Lawrence is currently on her way to Australia to begin filming a role in 'Fantastic Four', which the newspaper is claiming, is in pre-production there. Since this rumour hit the web, the speculation is that Lawrence is set to play none other than Sue Storm - one of the Fantastic Four.

Lawrence, of course, is no stranger to comic-book movies, as her career shot to the the A-list off the back of 'X-Men: First Class', where she played Mystique, the shape-shifting mutant. She reprised that role in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', 'X-Men: Apocalypse', and of course, the dreadful 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix'.

So far, there's been no public comments from Marvel, or Jennifer Lawrence's reps, and it's unlikely that there will be any time soon. It's also a little bit surprising that Lawrence was cast in this role for a couple of reasons. For one, Marvel clearly has something in the works for the 'X-Men' universe and you only have to look at everything that's going in 'WandaVision' to know that.

Secondly, pretty much all of the internet agreed that Sue Storm and Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four was going to be played by Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. It just makes sense to have them do it. Is it safe casting? Sure, but since when did anyone want anything other than safe from Marvel movies?

Either way, we're taking this rumour with a pinch of salt and a splash of DNA-warping cosmic rays.
