Somewhat unsurprisingly after a stunning opening weekend at the global and domestic box-office - $92.2 million and counting - a fourth film in the much-loved John Wick franchise will arrive on May 21st 2021.

Fans who signed up for text updates from the John Wick universe received the following message late last night: "You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming – May 21, 2021.”

If you haven't seen it yet (what's the matter with you, all three films live in the rarefied atmosphere of 5 stars on this here site) *SPOILERS* 'Parabellum' ends with Winston (Ian McShane) double-crossing John Wick and forcing him off of the roof of The Continental, but everyone's favourite canine loving hitman survives with the help of the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne). It's clear this has pissed him off and we now feel bad for all those High Table folk who will likely be shot in the face 67 times.

The John Wick series has been the antithesis of a very modern franchise issue - sequelitis. Each film so far has opened with almost twice the amount as its predecessor and reviews have also gotten progressively better.

We're just annoyed we have to wait two years to be honest.
