The general consensus surrounding Alice in Wonderland was that it wasn't all that great, right? But it made a *whispers* sh*t tonne of money (over a billion dollars actually), so naturally, a sequel is in the works.

Johnny Depp, current star of The Lone Ranger, is said to be in final talks to star once more as the Mad Hatter. Deadline report that the sequel would see The Muppets director James Bobin at the helm. And The Muppets was awesome so perhaps he'd add some panache to the proceedings, taking away some of the weirdness that you always get with a Tim Burton movie.

This would spell the continuation of Depp's work with the movie studio, not only as their go to guy for major live-action movies, but also as they give him more room to flex his producer muscles, behind the camera. Depp's production company Infinitm Nihil have just recently signed a 'first look' deal, as per Variety, to work on a series of projects that Depp himself can produce himself.

So you can expect lots more weird and wonderful character creations to continue on from the Mad Hatter and Captain Jack Sparrow.

But do you want to see a sequel to Alice in Wonderland? Or will this one be more for the hardcore fans of Lewis Carroll's story.
