It seems the Princess of Genovia may be returning to the big screen after almost twelve years as director of The Princess Diaries Garry Marshall has revealed its star Anne Hathaway has agreed to a third movie.

Marshall told People magazine; "I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan."

Adding; "Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it."

The Princess Diaries gave the then 18-year-old Hathaway her breakout role as teenager Mia Thermopolis who would discover she was in fact the Princess of Genovia, and Julie Andrews was her grandmother and the Queen.

It was, like, totes the stuff of fairy tales, you guys.

Hathaway returned in 2004 for a sequel where actor Chris Pine played her love interest. It's thought that he might just return too as Marshall knows him quite well. Pine's father is in Marshall's latest movie 'Mother's Day' while the director added; "Chris Pine and my kids went to similar schools, so I knew him as a kid."

Fingers crossed we will be returning to Genovia for more Princess Mia adventures soon... you know you're just the tiniest bit excited too, if not you wouldn't have read this far.
