It's fair to say he landed on his feet.

Before landing the titular role in David F. Sandberg's 'Shazam!', Zachary Levi would have been forgiven for being disappointed with his character's premature end at the hands of Cate Blanchett in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. It's not every day you get a part in a Marvel blockbuster and get to hang out with such a stellar cast.

But little did he know that an even bigger part was waiting for him around the corner and that his exit was, in his own words, "a blessing in disguise".

"Taika Waititi is such a talented director. I was very happy to go and reprise Fandral even for a day in Ragnarok just to work with him. And to go see Chris [Hemworth] again and the various people that came over from The Dark World, and also to die at the hands of Cate Blanchett… if you're gonna die, die at the hands of Cate Blanchett," he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"I felt like, 'Oh my God, I got to be a superhero. I got to be in a comic world of movies and then wasn't really utilised then I was dead'. So it was a bit of a bummer.

But as Levi points out, things often happen for a reason.

"All that said, in hindsight, if I hadn't died in that movie, there's a good chance that I never would've gotten Shazam! because my contract would still be active at Marvel," he said.
