Vanity Fair have tipped our incredibly talented Domhnall Gleeson for an Oscar, based on his upcoming performance in the Winnie The Pooh writer's biopic, Goodbye Christopher Robin.

Now perhaps we're a tad biased, but we were outraged that he didn't scoop a nomination, let alone a gong, for his turn in About Time (we might cry if we go there again), for which he stars opposite Rachel McAdams as the man that all men should aspire to.

Though he's appeared in movies that have enjoyed a lot of Oscar buzz (Brooklyn, Star Wars), he has yet to be acknowledged by the Academy for his acting ability himself. At 33, could this be his year?

“It looks like the actor might get a shot at his own Oscar with his latest project: a biopic of Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne.

“Whether sanitized and heartwarming or more complex, both Goodbye Christopher Robin and Domhnall Gleeson seem as though they’ll have a real shot at being part of the Oscar conversation in 2018.”

In Goodbye Christopher Robin, Gleeson reunites with his About Time co-star Margot Robbie, who will star as A. A. Milne's wife, Daphne. Simon Curtis will direct.

Elsewhere, Disney are said to be working on a live-action reimagining of Winnie The Pooh, and if The Jungle Book was anything to go by, this might be Oscar-worthy in its own right.
