Yesterday, we brought you news of the #SaveNelly campaign, which saw fans of rapper Nelly come to his aid to help him pay his tax bill.

The idea was to stream the rapper's material - most prominently, his biggest hit 'Hot in Herre' - as many times as possible, so he will (eventually) earn money from the royalties.

However, once the campaign was brought to the attention of Stephen Colbert, things took a turn for the surreal.

The TV host had a few sage words of advice on what Nelly ought to have done, lampooning the campaign with his own take on 'Hot in Herre', called 'Debt in Herre'. Bonus points for committing to the rap with Nelly's trademark white tape on his cheek.
