On this week's episode of 'The Revisit', Virgin Media News Correspondent and Irish Twitter Institution Richard Chambers stops by to talk about '90s action classic, 'Point Break'.

If you're thinking to yourself that 'Point Break' seems like an odd choice for someone so closely associated with serious topics, guess again. "It's the best bad movie ever made," he explains. "It is kind of brainles. It's like one of those fake films that you see on 'The Simpsons'."

Directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, 'Point Break' rode the wave (hah) of surfer culture in the '90s in California and fused it with a heist thriller story. Developing the script with her then-husband James Cameron, 'Point Break' has gone on to become a cult classic and one of the most celebrated movies in the careers of both Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.

Indeed, it effectively inspired the likes of 'The Fast and the Furious', swapping out surfer culture for street-racing culture. Not only that, 'Point Break' also inspired a live theatre show called 'Point Break Live!' where the role of Johnny Utah - Keanu Reeves' character - is randomly chosen from the audience after a quick audition process on stage, and then reads their lines from cue cards held up by stagehands.

In spite of all the cheesy one-liners, the dubious acting, 'Point Break' has endured and become a cult classic over the years, thanks in large part to fans of the movie like Richard Chambers.
