We're guessing that she would probably be voting 'No', then...

Sylvia Ann Driskell, a woman in Nebraska, has decided that she wants to take the issue of homosexuality to court in a lawsuit in order to have a judge in the Nebraska district court "decide once and for all whether homosexuality is or isn't a sin".

Driskell claims that she is the "ambassador" that represents "God and His Son, Jesus Christ", and wrote her suit entirely by hand. In it, she writes that "homosexuality is a sin and that they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in the closet".

Even though this is a lawsuit, it's not entirely clear what she's actually looking to get if she somehow managed to win, but something tells us that this particular case might not make it that far. The case has been met largely with derision, including from Steven Payne, a self-described "gay feller", who told The Daily Kos that "Brian (his husband) and I will be liquidating our assets in preparation for a certain loss. We anticipate the restitution ordered to this woman will take us down to our very last penny. In the meantime, our fear is so great we have ceased and desisted being homosexual".

Driskell has decided that she will represent herself, but the court noted that, of course, no summons has been made for the defendant, i.e. every single gay person ever. That would be an absolute nightmare on the paperwork front, in fairness.
