The Mullingar Fleadh was in full swing over the weekend.

An Irishman and a Scotsman teamed up to infiltrate various locations in Ireland over the weekend, which has led to social media blowing up about the BFFs. Niall Horan and his close mate Lewis Capaldi took time out of their busy schedules to journey around Dublin and Niall's hometown of Mullingar over the weekend, leaving a trail of screaming girlies in their wake.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann kicked off this weekend in Mullingar, and the pair of musicians caused quite a stir by popping into local businesses to have a bit of a sing and a dance.

However, everyone knows that sustenance is a must when embarking on a day of giddiness and craic, and so the pair headed to a local Spar to have a chicken fillet roll and a sup of water. The poor lads - eating a chicken fillet roll is difficult enough without a gaggle of people taking videos of you.

Next on their agenda was to pop into a local salon to get Lewis a blowdry in order to look good ahead of their lost list of appearances.

Niall then ditched Lewis for a brief period as he headed in through the window of a local and played a few bars with a trad group.

This also happened, which is just pure gold.

Niall and Lewis then joined forces to sing a rendition of Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars'.

We can see that Niall is spreading the Irish language just as well as the rest of us when asked to teach a lovely phrase in our native tongue.

On Friday, the pair were at the top of Grafton Street in Dublin busking by St. Stephen's Green.

Check out plenty more videos and pictures of Niall and Lewis over on Twitter.

BFFs Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi have been close friends ever since 2018 when Niall asked Lewis to join him on stage in Scotland. As you can see in the footage above, there was a film crew following the pair, filmed by TG4. Catch up on all of the Fleadh 2022 coverage by watching via the TG4 Player.
