Keane will have to stand trial later this year in relation to a charge that dates back to January.

A court in Manchester this morning heard that Roy Keane was pleading not guilty in relation to an incident involving a taxi driver in January of this year.

Keane was accused of "threatening, abusive or disorderly behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress" in an alleged road rage incident, but is denying the charges.

Although the Cork man did not appear in court himself, his solicitor put forward a plea of not guilty for the Republic of Ireland assistant manager, and he will have to appear before the Manchester & Salford Court on 19 June to stand trial.
