The pop star was attacked by a pair of she wolves boars while walking through a park in Barcelona with her son.

According to Shakira, the 44-year-old stood her ground against two boars before she was attacked by them. Managing to steal her handbag, the animals then ran back under the cover of trees with her possession.

The Colombian pop star was walking through a park in Barcelona, where she has been living in recent years, with her 8-year-old son, Milan. Recounting the ordeal on her Instagram Stories, she shared her bizarre tale by holding up her torn handbag, which had eventually been recovered.

She said: "Look at how two wild boars which attacked me in the park have left my bag. They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They've destroyed everything."

She then turned to her son, asking him to confirm how she attempted to stand up against the wild animals. She asked him: "Tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar."

According to BBC News, who reported the Shakira boar incident, there has been a steady rise of hog-related attacks in the Catalan capital in recent years.

In 2016, police received 1,187 phone calls about the wild animals attacking dogs, holding up traffic and running into traffic in Barcelona. Berlin in Germany and Rome in Italy have also had a number of boar-related problems recently.

Should you be heading to mainland Europe anytime soon, always remember that whenever, wherever you are, be sure to remain vigilant for wild boars.
