By the 2000s, Disney had branched away from animation in terms of TV output. Its new focus was on live action series that typically focussed on kid protagonists - just like you and me! (at the time)

Most of these shows could be found on the Disney Channel though they branched out elsewhere too. The 2000s brought us such icons as Lizzie McGuire and Raven Baxter.

'Riverdale' fans were likely first introduced to Cole Sprouse in 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody'. Cole starred opposite his twin, Dylan Sprouse, in the series, which had a spin-off too in 'The Suite Life on Deck'.

Singer-actors Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez also caught big breaks on series produced by Disney. The former headlined 'Sonny With a Chance' while the latter starred in 'Wizards of Waverly Place'. Shia LaBeouf was the lead in 'Even Stevens' and who can forget what 'Hannah Montana' did for Miley Cyrus' career?

And of course animation wasn't neglected entirely as popular 2000s series included 'Phineas and Ferb' and 'Kim Possible'. ('Recess' also continued until the mid-00s but we already included that in our 90s animated series countdown)

A whole range of classic TV series will be available on Disney+ when it launches March 24th.

There'll be a heap of Disney original movies and TV series on the service as well as films you wouldn't expect.
