Hugh Grant's dance to 'Jump (For My Love)' in 'Love Actually' is practically iconic at this stage, but turns out he wasn't enjoying it as much as it looked.

In an upcoming documentary for BBC2 entitled 'Hugh Grant: A Life on Screen', the actor reflects on the famous scene alongside 'Love Actually' director Richard Curtis and his co-star Colin Firth. It saw Hugh's character, the newly-elected Prime Minister, dancing through Number 10 Downing Street

"There was this dance written," Hugh says, "and I thought, ‘that’s going to be excruciating’ and it has the power to be the most excruciating scene ever committed to celluloid."

Curtis adds, "Hugh's the least musical person in the world. He’s only got two records in his record collection and they’re both Godspell."

Grant continues, "Imagine, you’re a grumpy 40-year-old Englishman, it’s seven in the morning, you’re stone-cold sober and it’s like, ‘Okay Hugh if you’d just like to freak out now'."

Firth says, "It did delight everybody and I think it’s the highlight of the film for a lot of people."

"...absolute hell," Grant summarises.

In fairness though, he does absolutely nail it.

'Hugh Grant: A Life on Screen' airs Monday 23rd December at 9pm on BBC Two and is repeated at 10pm on St. Stephen's Day.
