After some wavering on the issue, it is now official - the ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is officially underway.

We reported a few months back that filming was due to commence in 2017, however a video released yesterday by HBO seems to contradict this. Originally, Jeff Garlin had mentioned that the show would begin filming in the new year, with the veteran comedy actor delighted to be returning to the critically-acclaimed show.

The eighth season ended five years ago with Larry David arguing with a Frenchman about a terrible parking job, whilst Leon - played by JB Smoove - looked helplessly. That pretty much seemed to be it for the entire series, as David was reportedly reluctant to push his luck any further with the series and was eager to move on to film roles.

As it turned out, none of them really worked. He did a TV movie that he wrote called Clear History which was... not great, and he had The Three Stooges remake. Less said about that one, the better. More recently, however, David has cropped up on SNL on a regular basis as Senator Bernie Sanders. Curb was even briefly revived for a sketch, in which Sanders and David sort of meshed together as one.

It's hard to know precisely what the new season will be about, but it's clear that Leon will play a major part in it - as you'll see in the video below.
