Reality series 'The Masked Singer' has taken some mad twists and turns over its relatively short history.

In case you're unfamiliar with the format, 'The Masked Singer' sees celebrities sing while dressed in full costume and masks to hide their identity.

There's a panel that tries to guess the singers' identities.

The reality series began in South Korea and now has versions in the UK and US.

The likes of Ryan Reynolds, Tony Hawk, Mickey Rourke, Wiz Khalifa, Rob Schneider, T-Pain and Kermit the Frog have been among the most famous revealed celebs.

While politicians such as Sarah Palin have appeared on 'The Masked Singer', no one saw this coming.

Deadline reports that Rudy Giuliani was unmasked in last week’s taping of the season seven premiere episode of the US series.

He was unveiled as an exiting contestant.

Reportedly, judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke walked off the stage in protest following the reveal.

Judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained onstage and chatted with the controversial political figure among the uproar.

A source close to the production said that Ken and Robin eventually returned to the judges panel, but it in unclear how long they were gone for.

The theme of this season of 'The Masked Singer' is "The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly".

It is unknown what Giuliani was dressed as, or what song he sang.

Giuliani is best known for serving as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001.

He was widely derided for his baseless claim that the 2020 presidential election was "stolen" from his client Donald Trump.

And let's not forget that infamous 'Borat 2' appearance in 2020...

'The Masked Singer' season 7 kicks off on Wednesday, March 9 on Fox.
