Mackenzie Davis has been cast in Tim Miller's upcoming Terminator reboot, according to a report by Variety.

Although plot details are light, it's understood that Davis will be playing a Terminator "in the vein of Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin," and will join the aforementioned Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. Not only that, Variety's report confirms many of the rumours already doing the rounds - namely, that the reboot will effectively wipe away Terminator: Salvation, Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, and Terminator: Genisys and start over again.

On top of this, screenwriter Billy Ray - who wrote the screenplay for Captain Phillips and the first Hunger Games - is said to be doing a polish on the script by James Cameron, Tim Miller and producer David Ellison. There's no word yet on when production is due to kick off, however the release date of July 26th, 2019 has been pencilled in - so it's clearly going to have get going soon.

Davis is best known to audiences from her turn in Black Mirror's San Junipero, the underrated TV series Halt And Catch Fire, and most recently Blade Runner 2049. She'll also be in Ireland pretty shortly - if she isn't already - to film The Turning, and has a chap called Steven Speilberg acting as executive producer.
