John Cena is fast becoming to go to guy for directors looking for an actor with an imposing physical presence and comedic chops.

While he's been a star in the WWE for a well over a decade, Cena came to public notice as an actor who isn't afraid to make fun of himself in the Amy Schumer starring, Judd Apatow directed, Trainwreck.

His work in that film made Hollywood think of him as something other than an action star, and work in hit sequel, Daddy's Home 2 followed.

With the critically praised Blockers, he plays a father who's fiercely over-protective of his daughter, as he and two other parents (Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz) intercept their texting group on Prom Night.

In our interview with him, he talks about the impact of working with Judd Apatow, stars who have made the transition from the WWE to the UFC and Irish UFC star, Conor McGregor.

Blockers previews on March 24th and 25th and is in Irish cinemas from March 30th.
