The four-time Oscar-winning movie 'Parasite' is getting a US TV remake, with one big name currently attached to it.

Mark Ruffalo, who you'll know from various 'Avengers' movies as the Hulk, has been eyed for the lead role in the US remake of the South Korean thriller.

According to Collider, the three-time Oscar nominee is the first choice for 'Parasite' director Bong Joon-ho. The project is expected to be a collaboration between the director and fellow Oscar winner Adam McKay, for a limited HBO series of five or six episodes.

Now with four Oscar wins under its belt, the limited series will likely have a lot of buzz surrounding it, with some other big names likely becoming attached to it very soon. Although no casting has been 100% confirmed yet, it still remains unclear which role Ruffalo will play, should he be cast.

HBO have released a statement to say that the TV series is still in the very early stages in development: "The HBO limited series inspired by 'Parasite' is in the early stages of development, and to speculate on any characters or casting is wildly premature."

The TV company's choice of the words "inspired by 'Parasite'" are very important here - and should the series go ahead as planned, it will likely be different from the original.

Due to the thriller gaining worldwide attention from its historic wins over the weekend, it's likely to become one of 2020's most-watched movies. A different take on the Oscar-winning movie would be welcomed, to avoid audiences becoming bored seeing the same movie rehashed with American accents.

We'll have more news on this as it becomes announced. Mark Ruffalo will next be on our screens in 'Dark Water', a political thriller starring Anne Hathaway, which will hit Irish cinemas on February 28th.
